What are your education and career aspirations?

To become a Social Worker.

What is your favorite book/movie/song and why?

Favorite Book: The Alchemist - Just one of the many things that brought me to my understanding of spirituality.

Favorite Movie: Cold Mountain - I am a sucker for War love stories.

Favorite Song: Gravity by Sara Bareilles - Just one of those songs that has me walking through my past.

What is your current favorite streaming binge and why?

If it's not Family Guy or The Office, it's for sure Bob's Burgers. Who doesn't like a good life at all times?!

In your spare time, what do you enjoy doing?

Lately, I have been doing some amateur photography, but if not that then I am drawing, fantasizing about my future, or playing video games.

How are you practicing self-care during this difficult time?

I always check in with myself. Whether I bring myself to meditate, take time away from my studies, touch my inner creative side - I make sure I bring myself to serenity, peace, and pure joy so I don't fall into depression or isolation.

How are you adjusting to remote life and what are your tips to stay motivated?

I have adjusted well to remote life - my studies haven't been affected, I never miss doctor appointments, and I rarely have to travel anywhere. Sometimes you have to see the other side of the spectrum to be grateful for any situation.

As a Point Community College Scholarship Recipient, what is your message to other LGBTQ+ students?

Never think there isn't a light after the tunnel. It might be dark [the tunnel] and you may lose hope, but faith is what will drive you to take one step at a time every day. Before you know it, you're creating your own light within the darkness and you'll realize you had 'it' in you all along. It gets better and brighter - I promise with all my heart.
