Career and Technical Education Award

The Point Foundation Career & Technical Education Award supports the development of technical expertise in LGBTQ+ and ally students who are enrolled in non-degree seeking trade or vocational programs. Selected students will receive a one-time financial award to offset the cost of their education.

Award Details

The Point Foundation Career & Technical Award provides financial and community support to students who are pursuing career and vocational training.

This award is not intended to support the pursuit of an associate degree. Associate degree-seeking students are encouraged to apply for the Point Community College Scholarship.  

Amount: $2,000 

Funding Period: Awarded students will receive funding for the spring 2027 (January-May) term. Funding is provided for a single academic term. Students will receive $1,500 at the beginning of their program’s term and will receive the final $500 at the end of their term after completion of program requirements.

September 30, 9:00 a.m. PT/12:00 p.m. ET: Application opens online.  

December 3, 5:00 p.m. PT/8:00 p.m. ET: Application closes.

Scholarship Eligibility:

  • Must be enrolled or intending to enroll in an accredited career-focused certificate or trade training program.
  • Must use award funds at an accredited postsecondary institution in the U.S. in during the term the scholarship was awarded.
  • Must be enrolled in one or more credit-bearing classes for the funded term.
  • Must be a member of the LGBTQ+ and ally community.
  • If previously awarded a Point Scholarship or award, applicants must have exited their former program with active status, which grants eligibility for future scholarships and awards.

Scholarship Ineligibility:

  • Students enrolled in 100% online programs.
  • Individuals and their immediate family members who have had a formal relationship with Point Foundation as an employee, board member, or volunteer are not eligible to apply.
  • Students enrolled in degree-seeking programs unrelated to professional certifications/vocational training.
