Event Recap
Point Scholar Mira Patel shared her emotional story of how her family cut off ties with her when she came out; Mira not only lost her family, but lost her heritage and her role models. Her family made major sacrifices for her education before they turned away from her, and because of Point’s financial support, she is able to honor those sacrifices, and is graduating this year with an MBA from the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania. Also because of Point’s support, Mira is surrounded by individuals who care about her unconditionally, which has made a huge impact on her life.

More Details

We would like to extend a special thank you to our Host Committee, led by Point Trustees Jennifer Sobieski, Celina Gerbic, Jack Jacobson and James Mann, as well as the restaurant and mixologist team of JD and Jasmin Quioco and Lee Granados, who helped to secure 13 area establishments (the best in the city!) to provide food and beverages for attendees, and of course, to Room & Board for hosting us.

Thank you to everyone who made our annual Washington D.C. Cornerstone event a smashing success!
