In Loving Memory of Jason Collins

We are deeply saddened by the loss of Point Foundation's Honorary Board Member Jason Collins. Jason was a trailblazer, advocate, and extraordinary supporter of Point, whose courage and authenticity helped advance visibility and acceptance for LGBTQ+ people in sports and beyond.

After more than a decade together, Collins married film producer Brunson Green in May 2025 at a ceremony in Austin, TX. Later reflecting on the experience, Collins shared with ESPN, “In May I married the love of my life, Brunson Green, at a ceremony in Austin, Texas, that couldn't have been more perfect.”

Your gift in memory of Jason today celebrates his life and honors his dedication to the LGBTQ+ and ally community and helps establish the Jason Collins Scholarship.

Jason Collins' legacy will live on.

In May 2013, Jason Collins came out publicly in the cover story for Sports Illustrated. With this decision, he became the first openly gay athlete to play in any of the country's major league men's professional sports teams.
