What college/university are you attending and what made you choose it?
I am attending University of South Florida! I chose it because they have many resources for LGBTQ students, as well as a beautiful campus.
Which program are you pursuing and what about the subject intrigues you most?
I am pursuing a major in Environmental Science & Policy with a pre-law track, and what intrigues me most about this subject is how much social and environmental issues overlap.
What are your career aspirations?
I want to become an Environmental Lawyer.
What is a fun fact about you that few people know?
I once met Johnny Depp while he was dressed up as Captain Jack Sparrow.
What is your favorite book/movie/song and why?
My favorite movie right now is Rocketman, which is a biopic about Elton John. I love that it tells the untold story of a queer celebrity and the troubles he had to go through because of his identity.
What is your current favorite streaming binge?
I have been obsessed with Legend of Korra on Netflix!
In your spare time, what do you enjoy doing?
I enjoy painting and reading literature from the 1920s/1930s.
How are you practicing self-care during this difficult time?
I take the time to paint my nails! Taking an hour or so to make sure they look nice always make me feel better.
As a Point Scholar, what is your message to other LGBTQ+ students?
Never be ashamed to be proud of your identity. You will find people that are proud of who you are and want to support you no matter what. Do not feel as though you must hide in order to get into a good school or get a good scholarship, because if that's the case, it may not be the right path for you.
